A client very kindly gave me their permission to share this medicine mandala that I created for them. It was part of some work we did together, on what at the time, was a very core issue for them and one that was having a negative impact on all areas of their life.
They where having real trouble accessing their destiny – they described to me how they felt blocked from stepping into who they really wanted to be, no matter what they tried to do they felt thwarted at every turn.
We all have control over our destiny (contrary to what you may have heard in many hollywood films), our destiny is who we consciously choose to be from moment to moment. Destiny is very different to fate, fate happens when we are asleep, it is what the ‘default’ dream is for our lives when we don’t actively engage in dreaming it. This is why it is so important to actively and consciously choose the life we truly want.
My client and I worked together to identify what the key components of the issue were, I then tracked the issue for them and mapped it through a series of 5 drawings. The intent I set for the work was to ‘draw’ out the issue, and bridge mandala’s that would provide healing and help show a way for them to move on.
When I showed my client the drawings / mandalas that I had tracked around the issue for them they found them very emotional, and they described how they mapped exactly how they felt. The mandalas I tracked helped to map in a visual way what was happening on an energetic level for my client, and in the process of mapping helped to shift the blockage.
‘Destiny’ is a painting of the final (5th) drawing I did for my client, and is a map for them to help anchor what they were stepping into and becoming.
I would like to leave you with a Rumi quote I have seen around recently, that I feel links in beautifully with the theme of destiny:
“Let the beauty of what you love be what you do. There are a thousand ways to kneel and kiss the earth.” (Rumi)
